Saranac, AuSable, Crown Point girls win
SARANAC — Tori Trim scored 14 points, including knocking down four 3-pointers, as Saranac knocked off Saranac Lake, 44-31, in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference girls’ basketball action Monday.
Trim connected on all four of her 3-pointers in the first half to help the Chiefs take a 27-15 lead at the half.

Summer Gillespie added nine points and 13 rebounds for Saranac, while Kaitlyn Bowman contributed eight points, six rebounds and six steals.
“Saranac Lake is a much improved team,” Chiefs coach Tim Newell said. “They are a physical team and play a strong zone defense. We did a nice job with ball movement and Tori Trim caught fire in the first half to break the game open.
“I was very pleased with our rebounding. We had 22 offensive rebounds which gave us a lot of second-chance points.”
Nicole Viscardo paced the Red Storm with 14 points, while also connecting on four 3-pointers.

CLINTONVILLE — Meghan Strong scored a game-high 17 points to lead the Patriots over the Sentinels.
AuSable Valley used pressure defense to get easy transition baskets and took a 28-13 lead at the half.
Seniors Haley Taylor and Sierra Snow each had strong outings during senior night for the Patriots. Taylor Saltus added 13 points, while Taylor finished with seven.
Ticonderoga was paced by Andrea Rich’s seven points.

CROWN POINT 49, WELLS 25
CROWN POINT— The Panthers outscored the Indians, 19-4, in the fourth quarter to pull away for the victory.
It was a close game in the first half as Crown Point led 13-9.
The Indians, though started the second half hot as senior Brittany Woodward knocked down two threes, along with senior Bobbi Jo Page knocking down a three of her own to help Wells take the lead.
The Indians’ lead did not last for long.
Strong play from Amanda Wolf, who finished with 20 points and 20 rebounds, helped the Panthers outscore Wells, 13-12, in the third quarter. Crown Point eventually ran away with the game with help from Logan Harrington, who finished with nine points, and Ellen Kiely, who finished strong with six points and seven rebounds.
Woodward was the leading scorer for the Indians as she finished with 15 points.

CHATEAUGAY— The Bulldog seniors went out victorious Monday night, as they defeated the visiting Panthers.
The Bulldogs were led by their seniors, Courtney Boyea who finished with 19 points, seven rebounds and five steals, Makayla Fleury, who grabbed 11 rebounds and added eight points, and Alexis Beach, who dished out five assists and contributed four points.
“The seniors played outstanding and had incredible leadership,” Chateaugay coach Joe McComb said. “Words cannot express what the program will lose when these young ladies move on. It has been a pleasure and an honor to not only coach this great group of ladies, but to get to know them.”
The Bulldogs overwhelmed their opponent from the opening tip, as they led by double figures at the end of the first quarter and sustained control for the rest of the game.
Parishville-Hopkinton was led by Jenna Converse and Nicole White, who each had three points.
