Willsboro gets by Chazy in OT in girls' NBL

CHAZY — A quick lead for the Chazy girls on Senior Night wasn’t enough to overcome Willsboro Friday.

The Warriors tied up the Northern Basketball League game with a 14-point fourth quarter before defeating the Eagles 45-41 in overtime.

After Chazy took a 17-11 advantage in the first, Willsboro narrowed the deficit to a single point at the half. However, a big third quarter for the Eagles gave them an eight-point advantage over the Warriors heading into the final quarter of regulation.

Willsboro was led by Andrea O’Hara’s 17 points in the victory, and Taylor Bigelow contributed another 10. Payton Gough scored seven points on the night.

The Chazy seniors had a nice first quarter as Bailey Stalker led the team with six points and Shelby Gonyo posted five in the initial frame. Ashley and Courtney Gilmore combined for a dozen points in the loss, with the latter also contributing 10 rebounds and four steals.
