Wells boys, Chateaugay girls win in basketball

KEENE — Jake Early scored 15 points and the Indians were 17-27 from the line in a 42-35 victory against Keene in Mountain and Valley Athletic Conference play, Monday.

Caleb Hayes dropped in 10 points while Kenny Chicoski, Matt Michenzi and Seth Weaver tallied four points apiece for Wells. Hayes hit six of his nine free throw attempts.

Colton Venner led the Beavers with 20 points and was 8-9 from the line. Gabe Warner scored nine points and Brandon Dumas chipped in five points.

CHATEAUGAY — Hannah Cook tossed in 10 points to lead a balanced Bulldog scoring attack in their victory over the Saints.

Chateaugay played tough defense throughout the game, holding St. Regis Falls scoreless in both the first and third quarters.

Courtney Boyea and Caitlin Miller added nine points apiece for the Bulldogs. Taylor Winch finished with eight points.
