Lake Placid girls shutout Saranac Lake

LAKE PLACID — Kendra Manning and Emily Godin scored two goals each Thursday night to help give Lake Placid a 5-0 victory over Saranac Lake in girls’ hockey.

Those were the first two goals of the season for Godin.

Manning and Godin tallied in the first period to give the Blue Bombers (5-1, 2-0) a 2-0 lead.

Sam Barney, who assisted on the first Lake Placid goal, made it 3-0 early in the third period before Manning and Godin added their second goals of the game in the final three minutes of play.

“We’re working together well — we’re passing and moving the puck well,” Lake Placid coach Sandy Huber said. “It was nice to see our defensemen get some points.”

The Blue Bombers held a 30-7 shot advantage.
