B'town girls extend unbeaten streak

BRASHER FALLS — Kallie Villemaire tallied a pair of goals as Beekmantown rolled past St. Lawrence, 8-0, in non-league girls’ hockey action Monday.

Katie Matott added a goal and three assists for the Eagles (12-0-1). Kiley Regan, Amanda Peterson, Emily Raville, Madison Beauchemin and Madalyn Tucker all found the back of the net in Beekmantown’s victory.

It didn’t take long for the Eagles to get going. Raville netted her goal on an assist from Alexis Guay and Amy LoTemplio just 42 seconds into the game.

Holding a 4-0 lead after the first period, Villemaire tallied just 35 seconds into the second period with Matott and Clara Giroux collecting the assists.

LoTemplio and Giroux each finished with a pair of assists. Brittany Minner and Carlee Casey were also credited with assists on the night.

“We were coming off a big win against Ithaca and it just carried over,” Beekmantown coach Ray Guay said. “It was good to get some players some experience … they are my upcoming players for next year and I have to give them some time.”

Kayleigh Bell (3) and Alyssa Pelkey (4) combined for seven saves in the shutout victory. Stephanie Petes turned away 17 shots in the loss for the Larries.

The Eagles will travel to Albany this weekend for a league contest against Albany Academy and a non-league game against Skaneateles.

“We will have a full week of practice and then head to Albany to take on Albany and Skaneateles,” Guay said. “We are looking for a home seed for the playoffs and they are getting here quick.”
