AuSable Valley golfers win tiebreaker

AUSABLE FORKS — Monday’s Champlain Valley Athletic Conference golf match between AuSable Valley and Northeastern Clinton at the AuSable Valley Golf Club couldn’t have been closer.

The two teams tied, 3-all, before the Patriots won the match, 172-173, in the tie-breaker, using the top four scores on each team.

Nate Devins, Riley Taylor and Ian Rennie won matches for the Patriots, with Devins the medalist on the day with a 39. Taylor added a 42 and Rennie a 44.

Alex Duffy, Chris Kokes and Zachary Guay picked up the wins for the Cougars. Duffy was low man for NCCS with a 41, while Guay added a 43.

PERU — Jordan Guay carded a one-under par 35 at Adirondack Golf & Country Club to lead the Indians (6-2) past the Knights.

Guay was four-over par after the first hole and then birdied the next four holes.

Tyler Lemza added a 41, Chris Mattila a 42, Gavin Plimpton a 45 and Kyle Miller a 46 while also winning for Peru.

Nic Favreau’s 42 was the low round for the Knights. Joey LaFranca recorded the lone win for the Knights.

PLATTSBURGH — Jarett Wright carded a 46 and won his match for the Chiefs, along with Nick Lees, Plumadore, Max Staley and Nick Daniels, in the match that was held at The Barracks Golf Course.

Austin LaDieu turned in the low round for Saranac (4-4) with a 44, but he lost his No. 2 match to the Eagles’ Brenden Carnright, who was the medalist with a 42.

PORT HENRY — Dustin Fischer was medalist with a 36 at the par-32 Moriah Golf Club.

Ethan Sawyer added a 40, Carly Sawyer a 41 and Blake Gregory a 43 while winning their matches for the Red Storm.

Travis Nephew recorded the lone win for the Vikings with a team-low 44, while Wesley Belzer halved his match with Saranac Lake’s Austin Ecret.

SCHROON LAKE — Alex Shaughnessy was medalist on the day with a 41 to help lead the Wildcats to their shutout victory in Mountain & Valley Athletic Conference play.

Tanner Stone, Joe DeZalia, Eric Paradis, Dan Hall and Levi Williams also won their matches for Schroon Lake.

Noah Macey turned in the low round for the Panthers with a 53.

WESTPORT — Nick Arnold was medalist with a 41 at the Westport Golf Club to lead the Warriors to their shutout.

Tyler Bridge, Walker Lobdell, Eric Manning, Lee Sloper and Tanner Graves also won their matches for Willsboro.

Garrett Reynolds’ 53 was the low score for the Eagles.

MALONE — The conditions were tough at the Malone Golf Club, but the Huskies bounced back from last Friday’s loss in Northern Athletic Conference play.

The top four golfers for Franklin Academy were separated by just one stroke. Eliot Vanier led the way with a 41, followed by Davis Sprague with a 42, Evan Hanna a 43 and Dylan Fleury a 44.
