PLATTSBURGH — Three Section VII boys’ teams and three Secton VII girls’ teams will compete in NYSPHSAA quarterfinal soccer action on Saturday, with hopes of moving on to the Final Four.
Section VII will host three of the six games.
Two games will be played at Plattsburgh High. In Class C boys, Section II’s Hoosick Falls will oppose Section VII’s Lake Placid at 1 p.m. Then at 3 p.m., Section II’s Ichabod Crane goes up against Section VII’s Northeastern Clinton in Class B.
The Class B girls’ quarterfinal will take place at 1 p.m. in Chazy, with Section II’s Schalmont battling Section VII’s Plattsburgh High.
Section VII Class C girls’ champion AuSable Valley will hit the road to tangle with Section II’s Hoosick Falls at 1:30 p.m. in Stillwater.
Meanwhile, in Class D, Section VII boys’ champion Chazy and girls’ title-winner Elizabethtown-Lewis are still waiting to see who they will play in the quarterfinals at Potsdam High School.
E’town-Lewis plays the Section X champion at noon, followed by Chazy versus the Section X winner at 2 p.m.
Section X will crown its D winners tonight. Second-seeded Heuvelton opposes fifth-seeded Harrisville for the boys’ crown, while second-seeded Parishville-Hopkinton goes up against top-seeded Chateaugay for the girls’ title.
Admission to any of the state quarterfinals is $6.
