Peru takes five-set victory over NAC

ELLENBURG — Lea Perry had 12 points, including seven aces, and 20 assists as Peru captured a hard-fought, five-set victory over Northern Adirondack in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference volleyball Wednesday.

The Indians fell behind after a 24-26 loss in the first set, but rallied to take a 2-1 lead after winning 25-22 and 25-9.

The Bobcats, however, tied the contest at two with a 23-25 fourth set.

Peru captured the victory, holding off Northern Adirondack in the fifth set, 25-23.

Lexi Miner added 12 points, four aces and five kills for the Indians. Taylor Higgins finished with 19 points, eight aces and nine kills, while Madeline Kaplan had 10 points, four aces, five digs and six kills.

Aubrey Kerr paced the Bobcats with 12 points, nine digs and three kills. Olivia Barnaby had 11 points, six assists and five digs, while MacKenzie Fountain finished with seven points, 11 assists and five digs.
